Franklin's owner says:
My partner and I recently relocated to Australia from the United States and one of
our concerns was finding resources for our beloved Black Labrador Retriever, Franklin.
He sustained a spinal cord injury in early August ’08 and was in hydrotherapy for 3
months trying to get him on his feet and as strong as possible.
Since arriving and after getting his release from the 30 day quarantine, it became a
search to find the right veterinarian, the right pet store, the right medical
specialist and of course someone who would care for him when we were on travel.
The latter choice is always tricky and was made more so because Franklin continues to
have special needs.
We won the lotto with K9 B&B. Sabina and Michael are very knowledgeable and
clearly dog lovers. It was evident from our email conversations and confirmed when
we met for the first time. Tammy and I were so comfortable and confident that Franklin
was getting superior care our time away was stress-free.
This was the first time (since reuniting) that we had left him with someone and when
I picked him up 5.5 days later, he was the same happy well-adjusted pup I had left.
I knew when Michael stooped to hug Franklin as we were leaving, that our boy had been
treated like he was a part of the family.
One of the things I appreciated but certainly didn’t expect was that Sabina and Michael
chose to book Franklin as their only guest that week. It was a very thoughtful thing
to do (given the uncertainty around his disability). They also anticipated he might
overdo (his play) and monitored and controlled it.
I just don’t believe these are the kinds of things businesses do routinely. We feel
very lucky to have found K9 B&B.
A wonderful bonus is the special diet (prepared and produced by K9 B&B) that we are
incorporating into Franklin’s meals. In the 2 weeks since we’ve been home, we’ve
noticed a dramatic difference in his faeces. His are solid and smaller as opposed to
what have been in the past, large volumes of loose stool. He’s also lost 1 kilo which
his PT is thrilled about given the additional pressure on his hips. We supplement the
K9 B&B patties with canned green beans and will continue supporting their product.
Ruby’s owner says:
I am absolutely happy with the services provided by Sabina from K9 B&B
and left for my holidays feeling relaxed and comfortable that my dog was
being well cared for.
Communication was fabulous, I felt very assured after dropping Ruby off
that she was settling in well and was happy and content before we left
the country.
I was very well informed from every perspective. Without a doubt I will
leave my dog with K9 B&B again and will most definitely recommend Sabina
to others as she is doing an outstanding job.
